CARDINAL BEETLE
Pyrochroa serraticornis

This striking beetle is found in June on flowers and herbage such as nettles (here it is on the flower cleavers). It is found along hedgerows and wood margins from the Midlands southwards. The yellowish larvae of the beetle are long and flat and at the tail end there are two short prongs.
