Groundsel
Senecio vulgaris

Groundsel is a very common and widespread flower that flourishes on wasteland, gardens, cultivated land, and road and path verges. Is is an annual and flowers all year round. It has many branched stems with small yellow flowerheads, which then become tufts of white pappus hairs, similar to that of a dandelion, but smaller. Groundsel is a good food plant for the caterpillars of many butterfly and moth species, and is one of only two species that provide food for cinnabar moth caterpillars.
