YORK SKYLINE

York Minster is the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe and took 252 years to build. Its full title is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of St Peter in York and even has its own Police Force - one of only two cathedrals in the world to do so. The cathedral is of particular interest to art-lovers, especially those of stained glass, the Great East Window being the biggest medieval example of its kind in the world (the size of a tennis court).
