MIGRANT HAWKER
Aeshna mixta

Before the 1940s the Migrant Hawker was a rare and scarce immigrant species confined to southern England. Since then it has spread in England and Wales and was first recorded on the Isle of Man in 1998. The species has benefited from the abundance of flooded gravel pits and is now one of the commonest species.
